Glasgow City 8 Mosta 0

Glasgow City went into their second match of the champions league qualifiers this afternoon against Mosta.  There was no sluggish start this time and City pressured the opposition from the start with Jane Ross forcing a save from the Mosta keeper Costantino inside the opening minute.  There were several chances in the opeing quarter for Emma Woolley, Lisa Evans and Clare Gemmell all had efforts on goal before Jane Ross opened the scoring.  Emma Mitchell made it 2-0 on the half hour then Danica Dalziel got her head to a Leanne Ross corner on 38 minutes.  City continued to press and Leanne Ross increased the lead when she scored from the spot after Vella gave away a penalty.  Both Dalziel and Ross had further chances before half time, Dalziel having a shot blocked and Leanne Ross firing a shot just wide.

There was no drop off in form in the second half and City were quick out of the blocks with Jane Ross making it 5-0 a couple of minutes after the restart.  A few minutes after this Emma Woolley opened her european account and after a couple of misses from both Danica Dalziel and Lisa Evans, Evans finally made it 7-0.  City made changes towards the end of the match with Kat Lindner and Emma Fernon both coming on for Mitchell and Leanne Ross.  Jane Ross though still had chances but it was down to Captain Corsie to round off the scoring when she got on the end of an Emma Fernon corner.  City still pressed for more goals with Fernon delivering a series of corners and Jane Ross having a shot blocked and with four minutes added Corsie sent a shot wide so it finished 8-0.
