Yes, i think we will do ok, and 5-1 really was a bit tough, the game didnt feel like we took a "hammering"  and i believe we have the work rate and skill (especially in the midfield) to stay away from the bottom. But we have a really tough start to the season, but at least we will get to see what we are made of and play with the "underdog" label all season!

Hopefully following us via facebook can help some people on here to find a soft spot for VIF because a lot of the girls post on it and we are doing lots outside of football with youth teams and the mens team and sponsors etc throughout the season that is all posted on it so its easy to follow.

Scotland Women's Football / Re: Glasgow City sign Christie Murray

Good on ya Christie Murray! What a brilliant little player she is. I was lucky enough to play a season with her at Carson-Newman and she was a delight to have as a striker partner. Always looking for those little runs in behind and has unbelievable vision of her team mates runs and an ability to dance through defenders that are sometimes twice her size.

And i do believe the lines woman whom 2 weeks ago sent me off for some ghost tackle was also involved in this game. Surely now the NFF must think to take a look at her...

Thats a good point Alan. And she was refusing to tell me what the card was for, and after me asking 3 times "What is it for" and her saying twice "Get off the field number 9" She said "You were late in on the tackle" To which i responded "Ok well you have got the wrong player, it wasn't me, i didn't tackle anybody" To which she looked at me funny (Possibly confusion or doubt) and repeated "No it was you, get off the field"

But on a more positive note. It was brilliant to see Ada on the score sheet for us again. She is a great young lady with a hell of a lot of talent. And i can only see great things ahead for her.

I didn't make a tackle on anyone, let alone a late one. One of their girls had to go off because we clashed heads. And the other girl that had to go off it was a 50/50 challenge, we both committed to it 100% and she got hurt. I have the stud marks from my knee to my knicker line from the tackle also. It was a great game to play in. I am not a dirty player at all. Yes i like to play hard but i am fair and first to hold my hands up if i do something wrong. The lines woman has just made a mistake and it has effected the game massively. And it is sad that they wont hold their hands up and admit that as they would gain a lot more respect if they would. I have a lot of respect for the LSK team though. Many of their players came up to me at the end of the game to say they were sorry for what happened with the sending off. So i am rooting for LSK to go the whole way in the cup. And hopefully the NFF has the balls not to play that lines woman in anymore of the cup games.

basically we just try to play to our strenghts... We are a young team with pace, energy, fight and who can win balls in the air. And we are very capable of putting away our chances. So when we are against skillful opposition we just try to hound them and basically suffocate them so they have to play with their heads down and a few bodies chasing them and then clear up on the mistakes they make and then hit them on the break. Of course doing this for a whole 90 mins is very draining and uses alot of energy but it is worth it because as u seen today it works and it frustrates teams making them take snap shots and decisions that we are able to deal with having such a strong back line and goal keeper.

i think you were a bit harsh on us there! Yes stabeak had some good chances first half but we defended and hounded them solidly. We knew we couldnt "out play" them so our tactics were to ride the storm, get bodies in front of there creative midfielders to make it difficult for them and then hit them on the break. Which we did rather well i thought! So actually i think we adapted our game very well to a style that can beat them. We know our defence and keeper are solid and we use it to our advantage. So i think its a pat on the back to kolbotn to a very smart hard working formula that frustrated and beat our tough opponents.
