Allegedly big fall out with the organiser and the venue over increase in price, thus the exodus!!

"Btw now you mention other awards, I’ve remembered that we’ve won the best pitch award, best matchday programme and best catering awards.  Our U18 team also beat you on the way to winning the National Academy title last week."

Congrats to your U18's the only thing of relevence.....ask your real fans!!

It's irrelevent what other managers say, they don't pick the national team of any said country, the bottom line is Vieira isn't good enough...who says so...the French Team Boss Raymond Domenech!! as for one reason or another he HASN'T selected Patrick. You can try and spin it as much as you like but wether it was his fitness or any other issue, he's not been selected end off !!

You and I and thousands agree he was a great but it's about opinions and the only one that counts is Domenech's.

Can you put your hand on your heart and say Arsene's comments are feasible??
If he or Harry wanted to REALLY sign him...They would have...
THEY didn't so what does that say..."doubt"....Sol Campbell left and Arsene took him back...."no doubt"....it's not rocket science...think logically NOT emotionally.

People ask me the same question re; Gary Neville and I tell'em the same answer, he's been a consummerate professional but a bit too slow to go to the World Cup at 35 as a player in an intergal position of full back...in my opinion.
 good banter John

If you go to the official site your'll see the team who won the award for not kicking the ball too hard is Portsmouth, at a penalty kick.......

Congrats on the double Chelsea.

totally agree if he had the legs to do his running, the competitive, physically player he was has caught up with him, no shame in that as long has he recognises it...and managers and fans see that, not expecting him to be as he was at Arsenal.....

Idiot United Fans expect Giggsy and Scholes to be sprinting pass players like they did at 18, when they emerged....ain't happening!! be realistic!!

Smell the coffee...it's a game...don't take it to seriously  ;D.....
fair play award, right..I'm sure the Arsenal fans who I know will be pleased as punch to hear their teams won that award, and Arsene got an apology for being sent to the stand!!! :o ??? ::)

No!!, they'd want to see that they've won the Premiership, with the great football their capable of producing, so they can have the banter and shout aloud "Champions!" Fair play award indeed wow!! what next an award for the team with the biggest floodlights / toilets / corner flags???!!! petty and boring.

"Everyone needs to act in the correct manner!"... your'll be banning players from kicking the ball too hard next.....

not strange at all...if you ask 9 out of 10 fans about the fair play award, their'll state "the Team with the less red or yellow cards" NOT the managers... what's strange is you going off on a tangent....chill out stato !! ;)

The Fergie v Wenger soap is exactly what it is...."a soap all for the press"...behind the scenes their good friends as they've both stated, get over it!!

"I am amazed how often Ken is discussed by members of this forum. I'm sure members who reguarly watch men's football will have seen and heard a lot worse than what Ken does."
And I don't even know the bloke!!!

But in a crowd of a few hundred his opinions will be amplified but in a crowd of 70,000 be lost.

In my opinion, some fans are too subjective and not objective, thus the problems arise.

tut tut  stop talking rubbish...it's about the "playing eleven" NOT the managers...rant???!!...wasn't Arsene sent to the stands for his "rant" at one of the officials at a game this season???

ooops I forgot your a bitter Arsenal fan so as usual you wouldn't have seen it !!!
That's usually Arsene's rhetoric when one of his "angels" commit a foul and in the next breath say "everyone's out to kick his team!". 12 sky camera's around the pitch saw it but "I never seen the incident Arsene" didn't brilliant deflection, a bit like your doing now John, get with the footy banter NOT bitter.. your bitterness at blowing your title shot is plain for all to see!! >:( ;) ;D

Give up John....he WAS a great player but how many games he played the full 90 mins for City?? so the opta index is only relative.
You can't "arrive back" in the Premier league at his age and be brilliant again.

He was recognised as "A GREAT" by true footy fans but don't become "the boxer whose had to many fights" statistic, I've watched him numerous times this season and he's a a shadow of his former self. City fans respect him but he's not a fan favourite.

Think he'd be better utilised as one of the backroom staff......

Manchester City Midfielder Patrick Vieira Blasts Raymond Domenech's 'Lack Of Class' In Delivering France World Cup Snub

Veteran midfielder Patrick Vieira has criticised France coach Raymond Domenech's announcement of the World Cup squad - choosing not to pick up the phone.

The 33-year old only found out he wasn't going to South Africa when Domenech announced his 30-man preliminary squad on live television yesterday. He had hoped a loan move to Manchester City from Inter had rejuvenated his chance of making the trip.

Speaking to Canal + Sport, Vieira said: "As the national team coach had sporting criterions, I can accept the decision without any problems.

"However, I didn't receive any phone call with him for six months, even if I always had a good relationship with him, even when he was in trouble.

"Considering my number of caps [107] and years in the French team, I would have liked more frankness, a phone call.

"Now I have turned the French team's page. I would have preferred him to tell me, 'You don't have the right level anymore, there are young players better than you'. Mourinho did it at Inter, and I accepted it.

"Discovering it at the last moment, in front of the TV, that tactlessness, lack of class, which is what affected me the most. But that won't erase all the beautiful years I spent in blue. Will I finish my career? No. I am sure I won't stop my footballing career."

Domenech also left out Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri and Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. He earlier said it had been a very difficult decision to leave Vieira out.

Domenech said: "Patrick Vieira, it is the most delicate choice. We talked with Pat, we tried to plan for the World Cup. It has been a wrench. It is a real moment of emotion. It was difficult considering the whole season."
