why is it poor taste, there is always speculation about mens england manager changes and suggestions and preferences are made without any accusation of poor taste.  Its just speculation and this is following recent criticisms of Powell.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær thinks Norway has a good system for developing football talents.  Manchester United's reserve team trainer has been involved in development in Norway for some years and set up a football academy in his home town of Kristiansund.

"They have worked long and hard in Norway.  The present generation of Under-21s is well up in European class.  Also the Under-19s.  Several English top clubs are out after our talented players", said Solskjaer to TV 2 Sport.

If he's supportive, perhaps he needs to shake the bigots up at United then!!!

Players / Re: Lianne Sanderson

In my opinion.....is this a case of the tail trying to wag the dog??
as good as Sanderson is, to retire at 22 is a joke cos she wasn't picked by Hope Powell....parity with the mens game means acting / being professional,  if she was 34 and asked to sit in the stand, I'd have  more sympathy but 22 !!!!

If something personel was going on to cause a breakdown between the two...keep it in house, Powell can't win, she can't comment on the REAL reason (if there was one!?) so we'll only get one side of the story.

Sanderson should've shown the manager exactly why she should've been picked by playing well in her club or training session games turn the negative into a positive !! tell the manager to "fck off!" that way, FORCE her to pick you...
A manager doesn't have to like a player to pick them but will respect the players ability, same as a player doesn't have to like a manager, but they have to respect their decisions...I'm sure Powell is professional enough to respect and appreciate a player of Sanderson's ability.

Sanderson would do herself no harm by writing to the FA and retracting her resignation admitting she acted emotionally NOT logically.

I for one would like to see her in an England shirt again but perhaps the events at the world cup with France was too impressionable on her...retiring at 22 GROW UP !!

The French Squad are a disgrace to conduct themselves in the way they have....wether you like the manager or not you have to accept his decision even if you don't agree with it!! The manager had to hold fast, you can't have any player disrespecting with that level of alleged abuse!
Personally I would have spoken to the French FA, asked them to withdraw the whole of the team from the competition, once home, I would have "named and shamed" the players who refused to train and insisted that those players never represent France again, they have embarrassed France in the eyes of the football world!!!

But Domenech lost any empathy from fellow professionals by refusing to shake the S/Africans managers hand at the end of the game!!....
sad time for French Football.

Hopefully their'll win more than the mens 1st team hahaha! ;D the treble!!!???!!!

And they have!!!... The U18's smashed Bolton 12-1 in an emphatic win to clinch the League Cup which secures the "Double" with a possible treble opportunity...2 out of 3 aint bad ...so far....United's men take note hahahaha!!

Manchester United Girls U18'S have created history by winning The Treble in the Cheshire and Manchester Womens League U18' division in their first season !!!!. 100% record undefeated in The League, League Cup, and knockout Cup Competitions and conceding only 4 goals in total. But having won the treble, the girls have created history and controvesy by leaving Manchester United and forming their own breakaway team due to the club not supporting them to move forward and cutting off girls playing football at United when they reach 18yrs of age. Their manager Trevor Lynch said
"I am extremely proud of what the girls have achieved in such a small time, they've only been together since August 2009. The team led by their captain Carly Bailey and other names to look out for, Mary Steadman, Paris Potts, Chelsea Nightingale, Kathyrn Heaton and Shauna Edmonson have developed great coheshion, team-spirit and character, which has enabled them to silence the doubters, it's a shame a club such as Manchester United aren't willing to invest in their talent. One of our squad Emma Brown has been picked to represent England Deaf Team whilst another Chaneece Reeves was chosen to represent England Colleges. I constantly get asked the question "2010 and the biggest club in the world doesn't have a womens team..why?" My answer to that is "censored!"

I look forward to Trevor's new team progressing from the bottom of the womens pyramid, John if your reading this, you say Arsenal runs a "professional ship" I am biased here but Trevor would've fitted in perfectly, ask any colleagues and players, who've worked with him. Well done again to his girls...this'll probably be the last your'll hear off me, as it was the"  United Connection" which led me to this forum, had some good debates and banter... thanks to you all.

For someone who is so FACTUAL, PRECISE AND STATISTICS, are his forte....I'm amazed you didn't realise that it was never a "goal".

Did the ref give it?? was it given, then disallowed?? FACT; NO !!

6500k fans including myself "thought we'd seen a great goal!" on that night, but the ref told us we were "hallucinating"

So serious John, your wrong.....don't worry I wont tell anyone.. :D ;D
I think a custard pie is coming your way.. ;D :o

Obviously I was aware the goal was not given.  It was still a great goal scored that was incorrectly ruled as not having crossed the line.

THEREFORE NOT A GOAL !!!

OR the best pies in the land, best blogger, blah blah blah.....Your going over the top John, in my opinion, YOUR far too serious and blinkered in all of your threads...it's a game NOT life and death!! Think your in danger of being sent to the stands with Arsene and people won't be apologising...just some "friendly advice"

or is it your plan to "dominate the forum" as Arsenal men failed to dominate the premier league ha ha ha .... ;)

Players with ambition want to join Arsenal for the professional way we run our club.

are you suggesting no other clubs are run in a profesional manner?  thats nearly as proposterous as you suggesting players with ambition only want to join arsenal.. what about players who dont want to uproot and move south.. they sit at home wishing arsenal was in the north do they?

your getting a bit silly now.. thinking high of a club is great.. thinking they are the holy grail for all women players in the country (who al surely have ambition?) is bordering on fantasy..

"Light touch paper and stand back!"  ;)

Lynda Shepherd's always had potential to play at a higher level, wether that be with her present team or anyone else, so if she's moved on good luck to her, she served Blackburn well, as has Katie.
Blackburn are a good footballing side, so they won't be short of request from other players to join their set up surely?!
