Chelsea now 2/7

Arsenal and Man Utd 11/2

Looks like a two horse race for second place :(

I know full well when someone is well-meaning and when they are not. I do not take offence at any of  your posts my friend!  :) Actually when I re-read some of my posts they can seem a bit formal and stiff, but they're not meant that way, it's just the way I talk sometimes - even when face to face  ;D

I'll remember that when we eventually meet  ;D

I don't like Howard Webb - he makes too many big mistakes, and he's England's supposed top referee  ???

Anyone can make a mistake, but he always seems to make at least one decision to show he's the boss :(

Sorry I didn't make myself clear - it wasn't shown on the internet, it went out as a live 'radio' broadcast via the internet. It was well publicised on Shekicks.net or whatever it was then and also in every outlet I could persuade to give it a mention. I know the BBC website had it mentioned at the time etc.  :)

I apologise if I've misunderstood and said anything that might offend you Geoff  :-[

Good Lord TWM - you haven't offended me - whatever gave you that idea???

Just a few funny comments made above - thought it was possible you may have taken them the wrong way  :-[

I never mean any offence anywhere, but it's surprising how many posts, both here and other places (in the past) I've made that seem to have a totally different meaning when reading the previews  :o
And I sometimes post without reading the previews  ::)

Also nice to see the game will be at a more suitable time than the 5pm first stated (which must have been a typo on the site).

what both Everton fans will be inconvenienced? judging by home attendances LOL

My god I didn't realise they had that many...

I don't know how many were Everton fans, but quite a few arrived at a time ready for a 2pm ko.
Quite a few were Arsenal fans, going by shirts etc, but not sure about others.
Not a large crowd overall anyway.

It'll be fun if they start changing times when the new league starts and games are televised.
I can just imagine a commentator saying "We're bringing you the second half of Everton v Arsenal. We'd have shown you the first half, but they started before we got here."  ;D

I sent an email to the Friday Night Live on Arsenal TV Online asking what they thought, and they even used it!

But they didn't think that Spurs will do well in their next 3 league games.

I hope they lose the first and win the next two  ;D

I was told that Everton believe that Arsenal don't like 1pm KOs - if that's the case, there's a bit of gamesmanship there.

But, whatever - it doesn't help travelling fans, and I don't mean just Arsenal ones - some Everton ones travel a bit, as well as neutrals  :'(

You need the latest version of Flash player apparently.

No English team in semis for first time for 7 years!

@ John: I hope you appreciated seeing the class playing that knocked us out.
If you look at Arsenal.com, they mention match-winning performances against us - I was at the first one mentioned :(

I certainly enjoyed watching the football on display the other day.  I love watching players like Messi in action.

It's alway nice watching a class performance, even if it is against our team.

Going OT a bit, I always appreciated the Pompey crowd when we won 5-1 there in the FA Cup a few years ago - the standing ovation they gave to some of our players was amazing!
I wasn't there (but suppose you were  ;D), but am sorry to see Pompey in a mess atm. They were the first team I saw us play at Highbury.

Currently 2-1 with Kim Little getting 2 goals and Millwall getting a great free kick in between.

Now Kim hat-trick.

FT 3-1

Spurs can have a big say in the title race, having to play each of the top 3, and will need the points if they're going to get that 4th spot.

But is their mind only on the FA Cup now?

Lincoln crowd photo - 2nd attempt...

Another thing we did was broadcast that match live over the internet - thanks to Michael Hortin and BBC Radio Lincs - which caused, I believe, a lot more interest, in this country anyway. For contractual reasons it could only go out to servers in this country and was blocked from going abroad which I thought was ridiculous. That sort of thing will have to change if we are going to market our brand abroad, which is what I want to do...

I went to Everton - Leeds that day at Southport, as it's nearer for me, but would have preferred to have seen that game really, but this is the first I've heard about it being shown on the internet!

As for not being allowed to show games abroad, that is ludicrous!
I have a friend who is from mainland Europe who supports Arsenal (men and women) and the England women's team. She'd love to see some games online when she can't get over.

Same can happen from abroad though - I was given a link to a game in Spain which wouldn't work over here.

8 teams in the National League will probably be plenty - that's 14 games in a season, and 3 teams currently haven't managed that yet!

Ok - I know that they started late because of England in Europe, but the season was supposed to finish in January after all  :o

I doubt that many teams in the new National League will be affected by international call-ups though, but there's still the weather  ::)

Incidentally - where will the new Elite League teams be playing?

Bristol Academy have already announced that they will be setting up the first ladies ground, and I believe that Arsenal have an arrangement with Borehamwood again.
What about the rest?
Everton playing at Widnes RL ground?

The ground situation was mentioned by Vic back in Feb

Source: Arsenal – The Official Arsenal Magazine – February 2010

Vic: "There's a big job to do with Arsenal Ladies now at an absolutely crucial time for the sport as a whole.  We're looking at the new league starting next year and hope to be major players in that - the Club has given its support initially for the first two years so it means that, if we're allocated a place, we'll be up and running and it'll be up to us to establish ourselves in the top two or three at the very least.

"There's a new televsion deal with ESPN and that's a big area that we - and the league in general - will hopefully be able to exploit.  If we can get good football on there, with decent highlights packages and the like, things could look very promising.

"It'll be interesting to see what turnouts we get in our new league.  It will need good advertising, but it is a summer league and hopefully that'll encourage a family kind of audience.  We'll continue to play at Boreham Wood FC, I expect - there are a few things to iron out scheduling-wise but we're in negotiations about that at the moment."

I hope they can do the ironing out ok :)

There were 605 for the Chelsea - Arsenal semi at Staines.

Lovely ground, and a nice day too, but no-one really considered the fans!

It was a Sunday, and, as often is the case, there were transport difficulties in the London area, especially as it was an Easter Sunday.

I don't live in that area, but have my own car, so am generally able to get to the grounds, and last weekend I actually spent the night in a hotel in Borehamwood - expecting Arsenal ladies to be playing Everton after I'd been to Arsenal men v Wolves the day before.
But, fixtures were changed after I booked!

I picked up three regular fans who don't have their own transport, and who might have found it difficult to get to Staines. The tube station I met them at was closed, for a start!

In fact, two of them went to Barcelona today, and probably found it easier than using public transport on Sunday :o
