What Bonnie said.

I saw the news and I thought to myself, 'Wait - what? She JUST got healthy again. But then again, Nordby did the retiring/not retiring thing for several years, so, we'll see.' I'm optimistic that she'll be back at some point. I just hope Hjelmseth doesn't retire until Skarbø comes back or we find a new up-and-coming GK to replace her.

A big tusen takk from me as well, Alan. I appreciate the news and translations. I've been skimming through Aftenposten's site mostly and read what I can.

I may have to re-up my subscription again. For four whole weeks.  ;D

About the earlier news about the new TV2 service for those outside of Norway:

How much is the current subscription to TV2 Sumo for just sports? Because I'm not sure if it's a better deal (for me) than just paying for the regular TV2 subscription as well as the VPN and have access to all the sports they broadcast. I understand so little spoken Norwegian that the variety shows don't matter all that much to me.

They're reporting the death toll is up to 85 from the island shootings. I had a horrible feeling when I went to sleep last night that the toll would rise pretty far above the 10 they originally said ... But I would have never suspected the number to be that high from one man.

Andreas checked in with me a little while ago and I've seen Samuel post some from FB within an hour or two. Not sure about the others that post here.

Aw, bummer. I was hoping she'd go to Potsdam.

I've found that http://fotballshop.no is the best -- and just about only place -- to get Norway NT/WNT shirts with the correct printing on them. There's usually some U.S. places that will sell the authentic shirts, but not the authentic printing. The downside is, they're a bit expensive, depending on what currency you make.

I care less about the loss against Australia and more about the poor to mediocre showing against EQG and even Brazil. Not to mention the incessant bleeding of goals within a very short period of time.

Wow. I can't believe we're not going to the Olympics.

It's going to be a long 2 years.

This is DAMN reassuring after having lost to Germany.

I'm not getting my hopes too high (because that's how I deal) but I won't be sitting around, getting myself all worked up about our chances.

Well, I will  ;D but it will be less pessimistic than before.

I know there are precedents, but Ingrid's 31, grown up and sorted . .  I can't imagine her saying that  ;)

Agreed! I mean, if her and Skarbø were neck and neck for the spot, it would sound a little off, but since Erika's been out and injured so much, I don't think there's been much competition -- if any -- for the No. 1 spot. And really, I don't think there's been any buzz about that possibility at all ... Even for Skarbø fans like myself.

Saw the highlights ... I'm impressed -- even if the keeper was a butterfingers.

When I posted that, it was 62F for the high, and low 40s for the low. Now we have a low about 21F and a high for the next few days around 47 or so.

But it'll be 70F again by Friday. :D

(PS -- I owe you a PM, Andreas.)
