Title: Inverdale 'sacked' by BBC over sexist Bartoli comments
Post by: Mackem Steve on May 22, 2014, 06:28:53 PM
Not exactly sacked as he is still actually with the BBC, but sort of stood down form Wimbledon duties.

Not enough in my eyes, they had a chance to really prove a point and make an example that silly comments like that aren't acceptable. Instead they've just gone for the "be seen to take some kind of action" option so it only looks like they're not a sexist organisation.

The BBC in their wisdom are replacing him with Clare Balding who during an interview asked a male jockey if he was going to use his winnings to get his teeth fixed. Seems it's okay for a woman to make offensive comments to a man but not for a man to make offensive comments to a woman.

If John Inverdale is being replaced because of that comment why hasn't Clare Balding been dropped from horse racing? Double standards are alive and well at the BBC!

Call that sexism!  Here’s  what you said on May 19 to my posting – now that’s M&S sexism.
