Title: Central contracts a bad idea ?
Post by: Sylvain on September 08, 2012, 05:30:05 PM
I don't mean paying the girls is bad, it is a good thing of course but paying 16k a year to some "average" players puts the England manager into a situation where she has to pick those well paid players into her squad. Hence players not dropped or 4 goalkeepers called up out of 22 players.

Otherwise there is no way the FA can justify paying someone 16k and not selecting her. The FA is tied to those players and it is not a good thing. it prevents opening the squad to younger and better players than those regulars.

Perhaps paying 10,00 per match would level  the field.

Yes, they could have a pay as you play deal like they do for men's international football.
