? KO time, Women's FA Cup Final 2017
« on: February 26, 2017, 06:45:00 AM »
Why not let the people decide? Inspired by this convo:

Strictly speaking not WSL, but will involve two WSL clubs. SSE Women's FA Cup final - still no confirmation of kick off time, yet group bookings are being encouraged. Surely a lot of people need to know kick off time to make travel arrangements if they are attending.
or not...  ;)

Even the people at Wembleyee don't know when it'll start yet.

It's all very well if you're a kid or a competition winner or live close, but leaving others to guesswork is poor form this close to the date (May 13th). At least the FA can't be accused of sexism over this, as they're also holding the men's final at a mystery time two weeks later. For reference, last year the women's final was at 2pm, and the men's at the traditional 5.30pm.

Still not announced. Vote now! It's not too late to make no difference.

Stubhub is selling tickets for the men's final (NZ$1,000+ :o ) with a claim that it'll start at 3pm. A good way to end up in court at some stage!

That's a point – there's a whole Premier League round the same day as the women's Cup final. And it can't be televised until 5.15 because of the broadcast blackout!

Or get the whole game finished before 2.45, including possible extra time/pens.

It wasn't a problem when the final was in the summer or, in 2016, on May 14, after the blackout dates had ended (see Uefa's site). But now a mid-afternoon game isn't likely, even though most fans will assume it is.

You do wonder if the organizers foresaw any of this..?

Man, you are too good  :D

As sneakily added to the ticketing page by Wednesday night... The FA don't seem to want to shout about it, so let's do it for them...

Quote
The Final will take place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on
Saturday 13 May 2017,
kick off 5:15pm.

Kids go FREE, while adult tickets are £15 and concessions (OAPs and students) are £5 each.

Sylvain, if you could also tell everyone who'll win, what time the first goal will go in, and how many corners there'll be, I'm sure plenty would appreciate it!

5.15pm kick off means 7.00pm earliest finish and if there was extra time and penalties and you stopped for presentation etc, estimated 8.00pm departure from ground and around 9.00pm arrival back at the central London station from which you wish to continue your journey to wherever your home is (so almost inevitably a change on tube is needed)

9.00pm last train back to Manchester if Man City one of finalists, though advance fares reasonably priced at the moment.

do they have industrial action on tube at weekends? same with Southern for trains

Good draw for Arsenal in the FA Cup quarters- now just need to avoid Chelsea and Man City in the semi's to book another trip to Wembley..

I agree this is absolutely rubbish for anyone who does not live around London basically, unless they come by car.
The FA must have a deal with hotels around Wembley j/k
