New to Women's Football
« on: February 01, 2016, 11:36:55 AM »
Hi,

I'm very much new to Women's football - had my eyes opened to it for the first time thanks to the World Cup and now I'm trying to follow it.. although struggling due to the lack of media coverage.

I noticed you seem to run a fantasy football game here - think it's a fantasy idea and would love to get involved. Do you still run it?

I'm actually doing some research into the level of media coverage women's football receives - if you had a spare 2 minutes, it'd be great if you could help contribute with some feedback.

I have been running the fantasy footie game since 2009/10, I did not mange to complete all the data for the last few games of the season, due to being busy at work and travelling to watch game. I will put the final standing this month because I need them to prepare the 2016 players value as they are indexed on the points from the previous seasons.

Sounds good - looking forward to it.

Did you have trouble finding useful stats from the WSL? There doesn't seem to be many data suppliers with reliable data.

I only use the data available on the FA WSL website.
Opta does provide information as well but not to the general public.

Yes Opta charge £3k per season to use their stats - I wouldn't tell them that you're using the stats on FA WSL's site (Opta own them).

Was hoping you had found a better alternative.

Do you have a site to play your WSL fantasy football?

Those are the stats I use  http://www.fawsl.com/playerStats.html#OrBU3brRc84Kx1pW.97

We just do it here on the forum, it is a very simple mechanism, I use an excel file to count points.
