Sandviken 2015
« on: October 07, 2014, 01:03:44 PM »
Sandviken recruiting: Sandviken has already won the division-1 title and has been active in recruiting two big-name players for next year's return to the Toppserien.  Madeleine Giske and Stine Andreassen will be Sandviken players in 2015.  Both players have a former life in Bergen as well as a history of playing for top Oslo clubs.

Madeleine Giske is a midfielder who has been an LSK Kvinner player for the last two seasons and before that she had a year at Røa.  The 27-year-old has been injured for most of the season but has started playing again in the last two rounds of the Toppserien.  She was a Sandviken player from 2003 to 2005 when she joined Arna Bjørnar.  She has played 153 Toppserien matches and has 26 matches for the senior national team as well as 55 youth international matches.  She played at the World Cup in China in 2007.  She will also contribute 50% of her time as the day-to-day manager of the team.

Stine Andreassen (33) has been playing for Fana in division-2 but joined them from Røa a year ago.  In five seasons for the top Oslo club they had multiple League and Cup trophies with Andreassen in central or left midfield, using her renowned left foot.  She hails from Voss and before joining Røa she was the captain of Arna Bjørnar.  She has always been the leading player in the country of those who had never played internationally.

Sandviken has recruited two and lost two.  23-year-old Eli Anne Dvergsdal came from Kaupanger a year ago and played only two matches as a substitute in the team's promotion season.  Karen Hallingstad also had to two appearances as a sub but scored in her debut against Kongsvinger in September.

Earlier in the winter goalkeeper Amy Carr left the club and went home to England.

Thomas Karlsen http://www.fotballmagasinet.no/?mode=news&id=28355

Eli Anne Dvergsdal explained why she had decided to leave Sandviken.  "I was away until August so never really got into the team", she said.  She was working as a physiotherapist at Førde central hospital.  "I have also decided to take up my other sports of hill running and long-distance.  I was second in the Norwegian championship in hill running, took bronze in the cross-country, and I run every weekend.  It's difficult to combine this with football in division-1 or the Toppserien and that's why I have decided to concentrate on running in future", she said.

Sandviken continues in the transfer market and Julie Hansen has been recruited to play for the new Toppserien team.  She is from the local 4th division club Askøy and will now try her luck in Bergen's second-best team.  In 2014 Hansen played for the national U16 team at a tournament in Portugal, and also for the U17s in the Faeroe Islands at the end of September.

Sandviken has also brought in Madeleine Giske from LSK Kvinner, keeper Ashley Thompson from Medkila, keeper Christine Darbakk from Sarpsborg-08, Camilla Ervik of Kaupanger in division-1, while former Røa midfielder Stine Andreassen is joining from local club Fana.

After 32 minutes Silje Torvanger scored alone with Åsane's keeper Silje Hatland who played a good match.  1-1 came after 65 minutes, but five minutes from the end Karoline Bakke scored the winner for Sandviken.

Sandviken - Medkila 0-3
« Reply #3 on: March 21, 2015, 09:47:26 AM »
Sandviken lost 0-3 to Medkila at La Manga after a hat trick by US player Danesh Adams.

Sandviken have lost seven matches in their preparations for a new season in the Toppserien.  Stive Hovland is looking forward to her first season in the elite division and is not worried.  "The most important thing is that we have had plenty of good training down here, and the results will come when it counts", said the centre-back.

24-year-old Hovland comes from Vadheim in Sogne og Fjordane and has an older brother who plays in Germany and has just been picked for the Norwegian national team.  "It's well deserved and it naturally gives me new inspiration", said Hovland, who captained the team for the last part of Friday's training match.

She has a good idea of what to expect in the Toppserien.  Sandviken went through 2014 in division-1, dropping only two points.  "The biggest difference is that you are punished for your mistakes", she said.  She has now been joined in central defence by Stine Andreassen (34), the former Arna-Bjørnar captain who won trophies after transferring to Røa.  After Sandviken conceded only ten goals last year the pair can look forward to a busy season in 2015.

Sandviken - Medkila 0-3 (0-0), training at La Manga, 20-03-2015
Yellow card: Tina Dalgår, Sandviken
Goals: Danesha Adams (59), Adams (pen) 82, Adams 85.

Sandviken (4-4-2):
Ashley Thompson -
Isabelle Gjerde, Stine Hovland, Stine Andreassen (Camilla Ervik 67), Tina Dalgård -
Sunniva Lillestøl, Fride Tessem Mørkeset (Elida Knudsen 60), Sara Soraya Eriksen, Karoline Isabell Bakke (Julie Louise Hansen 67) -
Madeleine Giske (Ingrid Marie Spord 60), Marisa Park.

Sandviken - Trondheims Ørn 2-2
« Reply #4 on: March 31, 2015, 10:24:21 AM »
Sandviken drew 2-2 against Trondheims Ørn on Sunday in the Toppserien's opening round.  When Karoline Bakke sent Sandviken into the lead with a dream strike into the roof of the net, there was no longer any doubt: Sandviken are back in the elite league.

Last season was a walkover in division-1 as Sandviken remained unbeaten all season, dropping only two points.  But on Sunday it did not all go to plan as the visitors took an early lead with Guro Reiten's 10th-minute goal.  In the following minutes Sandviken were outplayed and the Trønders were close to scoring another goal or two.

"I thought we played well for the first few minutes but we gave their attacking midfielders far too much room and we could see how good and precise they are.  But we corrected it and I felt we took control", said trainer Øyvind Nordtveit to Bergens Avisa.

With 30 minutes on the clock Sandviken were being outplayed and keeper Ashley Thompson was clinging to whatever arrived.  But the recovery started with a textbook attack.  Experienced striker Madeleine Giske played Elida Knudsen through, and the local 18-year-old talent scored an equaliser on her debut in the Toppserien.

This woke Sandviken up, and soon Karoline Bakke (24) produced what could be the goal of the season.  She brought the ball towards the box and projected it up into the net from 18 yards.  Stemmemyren's crowd was taken back to the old days when beating the Trønders was the best thing they knew.  "I must say I was pleased with the goal.  I saw it in the net before I shot", smiled Karoline Bakke.

It must be said that Trondheims Ørn came back with an equaliser in the second half, and that the match ended at 2-2.  It could have gone either way but both teams really deserved a point after serving up a heroic match for the public.

I remember watching Karoline Bakke play for Arna-Bjørnar.  Players who wear their heart on their sleeve are a joy to watch and she's one of the best when it comes to that.  Nice to see both her and the old club with a great start.

Yes, I can remember the small, lively left-back at Arna-Bjørnar.  She left there at the end of 2011 so is already starting her 4th season at Sandviken.

She has played 67 matches for Sandviken (45 Toppserien matches) and scored 29 goals, 19 of them last season in division-1.  In 2010-11 she played 24 Toppserien matches for AB.

In 2009 Bakke played six U19 matches for Norway, and went to Belarus for the U19 European Cup, which was a bit of a disaster for Norway after captain June Tårnes got a badly broken leg (Bakke substituted for her) which was an injury she never really got over and she retired last year.

Sandviken – Stabæk 1-3
« Reply #8 on: April 20, 2015, 07:23:55 PM »
The dream start was short-lived for Sandviken at home to Stabæk on Sunday, and thoughts turned back to 2011-12 when Sandviken shocked one Topperien team after another.  Karoline Bakke scored the first goal after six minutes, and thoughts went back to 2011-12 when Sandviken shocked one Toppserien team after another.

But before half an hour was out Stabæk had turned the match round.  "I might have wished it had lasted longer, yes! but that's fooball.  They way they came back is such a pity, a really simple penalty.  At 1-2 we were run ragged", said Bakke.

She was not too upset.  Sandviken were prepared for a much tougher season than 2014 when they waltzed through division-1 without a loss.  "Sandviken will climb back.  We will hold ourselves up", said Bakke.

"I don't know why it was a penalty.  The ref thought that Rønning was held, but naturally we disagree.  Then Stine (Andreassen) got a ball in the back and it went into our goal", said a disappointed trainer, Øyvind Nordtveit.  "They had three set pieces and created very little else.  We had expected a good match".

Striker Andrea Thun is recovering from a knee injury and only played the first half.  "It wasn't the knee this time, more of a hit on the Achilles", said the trainer.

Sandviken 3 Klepp 0
« Reply #10 on: May 16, 2015, 04:51:11 PM »
Sandviken sprang a real May-16th surprise with a strong win over 2nd-placed Klepp this afternoon.  It was Sandviken's first win of the season, masterminded by the club's sports manager Madeleine Giske in front of a crowd of 300, and they jumped two places into 10th in the last match of the spring season.

Giske started the scoring just before half time, and this was followed by Andrea Thun, kicking a penalty at the start of the second half.  Klepp had their chances but they did not sink them, and Giske put the final touch to a comfortable win with the 3-0 goal 15 minutes from the finish.

Very impressive by Sandviken and weak by Klepp who if they had won this match would still be threatening LSK Kvinner's lead at the top.  Giske and Sara Eriksen were Sandviken's best today, while Klepp must go home and practice being a top team.

Sandviken punished at the end
« Reply #11 on: July 21, 2015, 09:31:59 AM »
Sandviken took an early lead with a goal by Elida Knudsen away against Røa on Sunday afternoon, and they went in at half time with high hopes at Ullern artificial pitch.

"We were very pleased after the first half.  We were really good at the start", said trainer Øyvind Nordtveit.  But they could not keep it going in the second half.  "We relaxed and Røa sharpened up.  Obviously a bitter end and disappointing that we couldn't hold out".

Sandviken finished the spring season with 3-0 over Klepp two months ago, taking them above the relegation zone.  Nordtveit is prepared for the autumn to be a battle to avoid going down into division-2.  "It's our main goal.  With one or two wins we can begin to look upwards in the table, but as long as w survive we'll be pleased", he said.

Røa's equaliser came after 58 minutes when Inger Katrine Bjerke scored, and their second came via Gunhild Herregården with a penalty eight minutes from the end.
