Glasgow City face a Champions League qualifying group decider with Ukraine's Zhilstroy tomorrow at 4pm at Airdrie Stadium.

Both teams are competing for a place in the elite knock out round of last 32 in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

After two group matches played each, both City and Zhilstroy-1 sit on 6 points having defeated Slovakian’s Nove Zamky and Northern Ireland’s Glentoran. With an inferior goal difference, only a win will see City through to the last 32 for the fourth successive season, a situation, City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki Black knows his team is more than familiar with.

Scottish football, for me, has serious problems both in the mens game and the womens. Sadly they are top leagues were the only questions to be answered are which clubs will finish in 2nd place and below.  Not something Id enjoy to watch or be a part of.

I agree with that - what's the fun in starting the season knowing you will probably win every game but its up to the other teams to try and break that stronghold. GCFC can only play what is put in front of them. Look at the English womens game, didn't Arsenal go a million games without being beaten on their way to winning countless league titles?

The other teams have now caught up and overtaken them.

But, the article is not a celebration of how good Scottish football is but just a reminder that GCFC are alive and well and still in the Champions League and in the next round of 32...........
