The fall and fall of Blackburn rovers
« on: February 23, 2014, 09:05:41 PM »
Well I have been out of the country for a few months but been following them on the net,i managed to get to todays game against a good Sheffield side, where do I start it was poor stuff from Rovers the team has changed a lot since I saw  them last some youngsters in there not ready for this level yet very rushed and no one to put there foot on the ball, the Manager dosnt seem to have a clue what she is doing.the only bright spot for rovers was a well taken goal, its sad to see this once ambitious club like this, second from bottom and I can see them dropping down the divisions :'(

A club that has lost its manager and most of its players to WSL over the past few seasons. Its taken a major hit TBH.

As for sheffield, theyll beat much better clubs than Blackburn, trust me. A good, very good outfit.

http://www.rovers.co.uk/news/article/ladies-lose-to-league-leaders-1384891.aspx

Just read the report only reason rovers played better second half is Sheffield came down a gear or two im afraid, yes they are a good side and its not a surprise rovers lost it was the manner and the kick and rush style that was worrying the few youngsters that have got some quality will be off to SL . >:(

very rushed and no one to put there foot on the ball

The Germans are targeting to get rid of the ball in 0.9 seconds this year.

The really sad thing is, I know players who used to be at rovers, decent players at that, who saw greener grass elsewhere and are now not playing at all. I guess that happens everywhere though.  :(

I'm all for moving the ball quick but pass it to a team mate would be good  ???

Well its sad to see Blackburn have dropped to the bottom of the League today :'( it seems all the hard work done in the past by some good managers has been undone its time for a change of Manager before its too late.Blackburn  have some good players but seem to lack direction from the side lines

Yes, they were very tough to beat for such a young side. Could easily have won it with the pen and another couple of chances and had Reading worried. It was really only the superior fitness that told in ET.

They may have lost a number of experienced players but if they can keep this squad together I'm sure they'll be back on the up-cycle in a couple of years.

Well a win and a draw in the last two games  ;D what can I say this division is very poor now WSL has killed the quality today it was more about who could kick it farthest seems lack of direction both on and off the pitch.this will my last post on Rovers maybe find a team to watch that has some ambition and a manager who knows what they are doing its a shame all the hard work and good players that I have watched over the years all gone

No change of manager, yet. However things look like they may be looking up with preseason teamsheets reading the likes of the returning Sheen, Twohig and Anderton, ex City players Shepherd, Holbrook, McLellan and Middleton. Decent basis of a starting 11, should the manager get it right.

With the FA WSL money talks.... regardless of winning promotion on the pitch.
