New chief coach - Sermanni
« on: October 30, 2012, 10:18:38 PM »
The new chief coach of the USA's women's national team is Tom Sermanni, who has led Australia's women the Matildas to growing success in his nine seasons as their chief coach.

Sermanni is Scottish, born in Glasgow, and played professional football as a midfielder for Cumbernauld United, Albion Rovers, Blackpool, Torquay United, Dunfermline Athletic, Canberra City and Christchurch United, before taking up coaching.

Now he takes over a team which demands results at the highest level and has won the Olympics every time except one.

The previous coach Pia Sundhage is now in charge of Sweden's women's national team.
