FA PREMIER LEAGUE CUP 2ND ROUND, Sunday January 13th (2pm)

Barnet v Lewes (Barnet FC)
Coventry City v Aston Villa (Bedworth Utd FC, 1pm)
Portsmouth v Manchester City (Moneyfields FC)
Sunderland v Sheffield FC (Hetton Centre)
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Blackburn Rovers (Castlecroft Stadium)
Yeovil Town v Leeds United (Yeovil Town FC)

Sheffield FC currently top the Northern Division with a 100% record and can certainly test their top flight credentials with a tough trip to cup holders and National Division leaders Sunderland.

Southern Division Yeovil Town might have only gone through as one of the four best third-placed sides but not only have they a massive home game against last season's beaten finalists Leeds United but the Glovers have been granted use of Huish Park for the tie.

Coventry City and Aston Villa clash for the third time this season, Villa won the group game 3-1 but the Sky Blues reversed the scoreline in a league fixture the following week. The pair will again be set for a league meeting seven days after this cup tie.

Manchester City will make the long trip to Portsmouth hoping for more out of the game than they got in the 3-2 home league defeat to Pompey. Ironically, City have just signed Portsmouth full back Trudi Harbinson, as well as Andrea Worrall as keeper cover for the injured Danielle Brown.

A third all National Division tie sees Charlton travel from one corner of London to another to take on a Watford side they've yet to play this term. The Hornets sit second in the National Division and have the joint tightest defence.

Southern Division Lewes have an interesting challenge away to top flight Barnet. The Sussex side are in the bottom two in their inaugural Premier League campaign and while the Bees have yet to win a league fixture this term, their cup form has proved far stonger.

Wolves welcome Blackburn whom they went down 3-0 at home to in their first game back in the Premier League in August. There's just three points between them but with Rovers having played three games less, it is they who have their eyes on the top, while Wanderers' main concern is retaining their hard won status.

The other two ties, Cardiff City v Brighton and Watford v Charlton, are postponed until January 20th due to international call-ups.

The much delayed FA Premier League Cup 2nd Round tie between Portsmouth and Manchester City saw Pompey progress 2-1.

Sunday March 3rd
FA PREMIER LEAGUE CUP 2ND ROUND
Portsmouth 2-1 Manchester City (Att: 150)

Portsmouth repeated their league win over Manchester City to knock the visitors to Havant & Waterlooville FC out of the Premier League Cup.

Pompey made a strong start and stopped City playing, pressing really high. They produced three chances in quick succession midway through the first half, Shelly Cox and Charley Wilson going close before Lindsay Roe forced a save and Cox followed up to net from an acute angle.

Wilson turned her marker and played a through ball from which Gemma Hillier slotted home the second goal for the home side.

Sadie Blakely importantly made a fantastic save right on half-time, especially as City were to have a better second half.

Wilson forced a tip over by Andrea Worrall before City pulled a goal back through Carley Bayley via a corner.

Blakely did well to rise above everyone to pluck a shot from the top corner, while Cox's cross-shot late on was turned into the side-netting by Jemma Tewkesbury.

Portsmouth now host Barnet in the quarter-finals on March 24th, the winners going to Blackburn Rovers or Aston Villa who play the same day. Sunderland also take on Leeds United in a semi-final tie on March 24th.

Rovers 1 Villa 1 5-6 penalties

Porstmouth 2 Barnet 1
Strange refereeing to be honest, it did not really influence the result but strange.
