06:05   Japan (W) U20   1-0   USA (W) U20

The USA will depart for Japan on June 10 and Swanson will take 21 players for the two friendly matches, matching the roster size he will bring to the Women’s World Cup this fall. The U.S. team will be based in Osaka and will face Japan on June 17 at the Nagai Stadium and on June 20 at the J-Green Sakai National Training Center.

A couple of the Japanese shots were pretty spectacular.  It will be interesting to see how they fare when they miss the net, because it's going to happen.

Argentina is improved but they're still pretty green.  Who knows with North Korea, half of their World Cup squad from Germany is on their U20 roster in Japan.  Canada won't be a pushover.

Just a ghastly crossover to the victors in Group C.

The Brazil-Italy match was the most foul ridden womens match I have ever seen.

On a par with mens football in terms of all the bad aspects

Each half was lit up by a brilliant goal, so it wasn't all bad !

USA takes the Cup
« Reply #10 on: September 09, 2012, 02:04:36 PM »
USA won the World Cup on Saturday against all the odds with a goal just before half time by Kealia Ohai who netted a cross from fellow Tar-Heel Crystal Dunn.  Bryane Heaberlin in goal was the third University of North Carolina student in the victorious team.  Heaberlin could not stop grinning as she made vital saves at the end of the match as Germany tried everything.  None of the three has yet had a match for the UNC first team.
