Full time from Corbie Park - Dee Vale 2-5 Buchan

Buchan put one hand on the SWFLDII(N) title with a big win over Dee Vale at Corbie Park. Four first half goals had the visitors out of sight by the interval and Dee Vale were unable to put together another famous comeback, managing only a pair of goals to lessen the damage.

Buchan got things off and running only four minutes in with a curling effort from the edge of the area which sailed past the outstretched arm of the stand in Dee Vale keeper and into the bottom corner. Two minutes later and the visitors doubled their lead, this time with a shot rifled into the roof of the net from inside the area as Dee Vale struggled to keep up. Fifteen minutes in and Buchan went three ahead thanks to a low shot which squirmed under the Dee Vale keeper at the base of her post, and the game was won midway through the first half when a cross from the touchline drifted over the home defence and into the net at the back post.

Dee Vale offered little in the first half and the Buchan keeper was caused more problems by backpasses on the bumpy pitch than she was by the hosts, but Dee Vale were on the scoresheet early in the second half when their number 4 chased a ball over the top into the area before rounding the keeper and putting the ball into the net. Vale perked up following their goal but Buchan were four goals ahead for a second time with an hour played when their number 11 scored the goal of the game, crashing home an acrobatic volley. Dee Vale finished the game with a second goal, when Lynn Duncan scored at the second attempt following a save.

Buchan only need a point from their remaining two games to clinch the title, but can be crowned champions this weekend if Stonehaven fail to beat Dundee City.  Buchan play their next game on Sunday 23rd of October at home to Moray.
