UEFA Participants:
Euro 2009 46 countries
WC 2011 42 countries
Euro 2013 45 countries
WC 2015 ?? countries

UEFA countries not participating Euro 2013 (8):
Albania, Azerbeidjan, Cyprus, Moldova, Montenegro,
Andorra, Liechtenstein und San Marino.

13.03.2012
14:30   Montenegro (W)   2-3   Bosnia-Herzeg (W)
15.03.2012
12:00   Montenegro (W)   2-2   Bosnia-Herzeg (W)
15.05.2012
16:30   Montenegro (W)   2-4   Albania (W)
18.05.2012
16:35   Albania (W)   4-3   Montenegro (W)
22.05.2012
16:30   Albania (W)   2-0   Macedonia FYR (W)

In case Albania and Montenegro will participate, it could be 47 countries. With 48 countries it could be 8 groups of six, with only the groupswinners going to Canada.

WC 2011 there was no (UEFA) preliminary round with 41 countries

8 groups of 6 teams should be the best option.

From 4.5/16 to 8/24. UEFA should be pleased with that  :)

Don't think any other continents have a real cause to complain, either. Perhaps CONMEBOL, but their 3rd best team should beat the 4th best team in CONCACAF.

Yes, Samuel, they certainly will be pleased!

To "get" from 8 "new" slots 4 more than during the WC 2011 in Germany, is imho "near a miracle!"
To have 25% during the WC 2011 in Germany (4 slots on 16) and to get 33 1/3% during the WC 2015 in Canada (8 slots on 24) is for me a big surprise.

and no, any other confederation have a real cause to complain and yes I too expect that the 3rd Conmebol team will beat the 4th Concacaf team.

Didn't realise it's actually the 5th best CONCACAF team that gets the chance of a play-off (because of a host spot). It'll be interesting to see how they organise the qualifying then, maybe some sort of B play-off.  :)

Samuel, I too didnot realise this, but imho I expect that Haiti or Trinidad/Tobago will replace Canada and
of the four Concacaf semi-finalists of the 2014 Women's Gold Cup USA, Mexico and Costa Rica will be pretty certain going to Canada's WC 2015.

Jamaica's last matches were 2007 but they beat Ecuador and tied Uruguay.
