Buckley gives youth its head
« on: February 12, 2011, 11:23:28 PM »
Great interview with the Donny Belles boss by Wilf@Shekicks.

http://www.shekicks.net/flog/blogs/post/255

Main points:

  • 17 y.o.'s Tash Lipka, Millie Bright and Charlotte Bennett in Donny's WSL squad
  • Kylla Sjomen recommended by Holtham while in America and endorsed by Liz Hansen
  • Will be "the poorest payers in the league by a country mile"
  • Claim Lincoln "would really love to stuff us"

:D Great kidology by John - he was a player at Celtic when Sir Alex Ferguson was at Aberdeen so I guess he's learnt from the master!

I see them finishing 5th or 6th actually not 8th that one will go to Liverpool if they don't sign players ...

Hats off to John for talking about his underdogs' plucky "little business plan" and "good little squad" hoping to turn the tables on their rivals.

Sadly I don't think it's quite like that in reality.  :D

I suppose it's all good publicity though... and great motivation for the Belles players.
