FAI failing Irish women's football
« on: January 29, 2011, 10:03:59 PM »
DOZY Football Association of Ireland chiefs are still holding back women's football in the Emerald Isle.

In their latest blunder, the FAI.ie website today ran a news item on Aine O'Gorman's transfer to Doncaster Belles - a deal widely reported FIVE months ago.

The 'profiles' section of the site remains pathetically out-of-date and error-strewn.

An FAI insider said: "No-one at the FAI knows the first thing about women's football - or cares enough to find out.

"The overseas players must feel humiliated by the wee paragraph on the website, giving WRONG info, listing them at clubs they left two or three years ago.

"Even our star players from Arsenal Ladies, no-one has the foggiest idea how many caps they've won or when they first pulled on the green shirt.

"Irish women's football is stuck in the dark ages."

quite true, if you look a few topic below, I advertised an Ireland France friendly on the 30th of november and it appeared on the fai website on the 11th of February. I actually had more information than some the Irish arsenal girls at that time....mad

It's completely ridiculous and shameful. Ireland have all these girls out playing at the top level in Norway, Sweden and England - who the blazers at the FAI wouldn't know if they tripped over them.

Even the Scottish and Welsh FA's can get the basic things right so why can't Ireland's?
