Kelly Smith not record goalscorer?

Everyone thought Karen Walker had the record goals for England (40), until Smith passed it against Switzerland last month.

But someone on wikipedia reckons Kerry Davis (of Lazio, Liverpool, Croydon) scored 44 - and it seems to check out.

They do have some stats on the FA website now, but not an all-time topscorer list. Perhaps it is difficult for them since they only started running women's football in 1993?

Karen Walker and Smith are great players but it seems a bit unfair to overlook Davis (and maybe others?), if the record was actually hers all along.
