U20 Squad Named for Germany
« on: June 28, 2010, 08:27:23 PM »
England Women's U20s Coach Mo Marley has named her squad for July's World Cup Finals in Germany.

The 21-player squad features 14 who were part of Marley's side who recently reached the Final of the European Championship in Macedonia. Meanwhile, eight players also appear in the last World Cup in Chile two years ago, where the Three Lions lost in the quarter-finals to eventual winners USA.

This year's Finals begin for England on 14 July where they take on Nigeria in Augsburg. They stay there for the second game, too, against Mexico on 17 July before rounding off Group C in Bielefeld against Japan on 21 July.

The top two teams from each of the four groups will progress to the quarter-finals.

The England Squad

Ashley Baker (University of Georgia), Becky Spencer (Arsenal LFC), Lauren Davey (Watford LFC)

Kerys Harrop (Birmingham City LFC), Gemma Bonner (Leeds Carnegie), Lucy Bronze (Sunderland AFC Ladies), Chelsea Weston (Doncaster Belles LFC), Lyndsey Cunningham (Nottingham Forest LFC), Shelby Hills (Chelsea LFC), Gilly Flaherty (Arsenal LFC)

Isobel Christiansen (Birmingham City LFC), Michelle Hinnigan (Everton LFC), Jessica Holbrook (Everton LFC), Jordan Nobbs (Sunderland AFC Ladies), Abbie Prosser (Arsenal LFC), Jade Moore (Leeds Carnegie)

Toni Duggan (Everton LFC), Demi Stokes (Sunderland AFC Ladies), Lucy Staniforth (Sunderland AFC Ladies), Danielle Carter (Arsenal LFC), Rebecca Jane (Chelsea LFC)

As a Sunderland fan good to see the 4 girls from Sunderland named. Looks like a very good squad.
"Sunderland have got a girl up front who is clinical - Beth Mead is one of the best strikers in the country, let alone our division - and it showed today." - Aston Villa Ladies Head Coach Joe Hunt

For when the One Great Scorer comes to mark against your name / He writes - not that you won or lost - but how you played the Game.
