That's fair enough, Gilly also lost her place due to injury.

There have been a multitude of combinations so far this season  ???
The pic is Tytti Porkka of Finland - I actually took it myself, but have lost all my pics and have no more :(

Clean sheets are great - but can be upset by stupid refereeing decisions.

Eg a goal conceded after an indirect free kick was given in the area at Liverpool in the early part of the season (and Vic got sent to the stands for arguing).

Liverpool did get another as well though.

If you look at the report on arsenal.com, it's not surprising Arsenal scored a lot - Liverpool appear to only have one player  ;D

It was strange to have her as our 5th or 6th center back.
I thought she'd be our number 3 choice behind Ciara and Gilly.
As long as she does not come back to score against us, good luck to her.

She was obviously going to be surplus to requirements once we had Faye and Yvonne back from injury.  I think she was probably behind Faye, Ciara, Gilly, Jennifer and Yvonne in the pecking order.  I did not see anything from her to suggest she merited being placed higher up that list.  It was a shame she had to play out of position for a large part of last season. I’m sure she doesn’t regret the move though seeing as she now has a number of medals at home.

Best of luck to her at Leeds ;)

I don't know her circumstances or anything, but know she used to share the travelling with Kaz Carney, until Kaz left, of course.

I wonder if the distance she lived from the ground affected her choice a bit.
I know Leeds will be a bit of a drive for her too, but maybe more suitable to her own personal circumstances.

Good decision by Laura. I've always thought she was a good player and i'm sure she'll show that again at Leeds.

Stats really makes me think it is a strange choice to release her.

2008/09
Bassett 33/40 82.5% White 37.50% Tracy  32.5%
2007/08 White 67.5 % Tracy 65%
2006/007 White 15.9% Tracy 0 %

Over 3 seasons :White 37.09% Tracy 31.45% of games played.

Simply based on the number of appearance, it seems very strange to keep two injury prone players who have not played much over the recent years, over someone who has played in every game she has been named on the team sheet but two ( Umea home and away ). I guess the club is loyal to players who have been serving it for years.

Or they might just have looked at the ability of all the players.

Exactly why keep someone like White  ??? it does not make any sense, she has not been performing consistently for years.

White is still one of the best defenders in England.

... 7 years pass ...

Lot of water under the bridge. Sooo much of it.

Laura Bassett puts hunt for new club on hold to aid England's Euro 2017 campaign

The 33-year-old has been without a club since Notts County Ladies folded on the eve of the Spring Series due to debts owed to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Bassett opted against signing with another club straight away and instead trained with former club Birmingham City to keep herself fit for the Lionesses' efforts to win Euro 2017 in Holland.

The ex-Arsenal defender suffered heartbreak at the World Cup in Canada two years ago, scoring an own goal at the end of extra-time in England's semi-final clash with Japan that led to their exit from the tournament.

Since then she has been presented with another challenge as she will now look for a new club - but only after she has taken care of business with England at Euro 2017, which begins on July 16.
