you'd think that if they didnt respect him, they would have got rid of him BEFORE the tournament and not after to give them as good a chance of winning as possible.....

btw John, which 'true Champions ' are you referring to in your strapline?

You'll find the even the French government have made comments over the past couple of years about the need for new management.  You'll find lots of negative comments about Raymond all over the net from current and former players, managers, politicians.

Look at what the UEFA president recently said

PLATINI: “DOMENECH IS A PROBLEM”

UEFA president Michel Platini believes that the "Raymond problem" and a lack of great talent will see France unsuccessful in South Africa. "There's a Raymond problem," he said in an interview with Groupe Hersant Media. "A problem of personality, not as a coach. He was hopeless. It was after the Euros with his proposal which hurt the whole of France. People were in pain, sad, and he, he comes with his words. He knew it, he's acknowledged it - he messed up and that's it. Before being himself, he is the coach of the France team. His duty is to the whole French footballing family."

Nobody in particular.  It is a quote I like about that subject.

He is only going to the world cup because the Fédération Française de Football did not want to pay the manager off.  Blanc will do much better.

It looks like I was always right about the French manager.  They needed more leaders in the squad like Vieira.

They are good players. They wouldn't be playing for the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea or Man Utd if they were not quality players. I agree with Zidane when he says the problem will be resolved once the new manager takes over.

I’d be more concerned for France if they had a load of poor players.  The main problem is they are not playing as a team and clearly do not get on with the current coaching team.

The French Squad are a disgrace to conduct themselves in the way they have....wether you like the manager or not you have to accept his decision even if you don't agree with it!! The manager had to hold fast, you can't have any player disrespecting with that level of alleged abuse!
Personally I would have spoken to the French FA, asked them to withdraw the whole of the team from the competition, once home, I would have "named and shamed" the players who refused to train and insisted that those players never represent France again, they have embarrassed France in the eyes of the football world!!!

But Domenech lost any empathy from fellow professionals by refusing to shake the S/Africans managers hand at the end of the game!!....
sad time for French Football.
