SKIPPER GILL SWAPS SOCCER FIELD FOR THE DANCE FLOOR
« on: March 01, 2007, 10:43:17 AM »
CAPTAIN of the Isle of Man Ladies' Football team, Gill Christian, will be putting her best foot forward to take part in Essentially Dancing at the Villa Marina, Douglas, this weekend.

She is one of six local personalities taking part in the event to raise money for Victim Support.

Together with her dance partner David Cowley, she will be performing the quickstep.

Manager of Victim Support Paula Kewley, who is dancing in the competition with deputy prison governor Colin Ring, said: 'Many of the celebrities didn't realise how hard it would be, although one celebrity is quietly confident!

'However, it is the audience's votes that will decide the final winner on the day.'

Other personalities taking part are Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry Minister Phil Gawne, Isle of Man Creameries chief executive Findlay MacLeod, advocate Pamela Pringle, and firefighter and TT star Paul Hunt.

Essentially Dancing takes place this Sunday and there are still some tickets available from the Gaiety Theatre box office, Douglas.

On the afternoon there will also be entertainment from Stonechase, Adam Gilman, the Twirlies and Sam Barkes.
