32 AND OUT FOR VIC
« on: June 20, 2009, 11:43:15 PM »
The Arsenal matchday programme honours Vic

As you’ll know, Vic moves upstairs from the start of next season after a quite remarkable tenure at the helm of Arsenal Ladies – rounded off in the most dramatic and satisfying of ways.

He has landed 32 major trophies during his time in charge – breaking his, and the Club’s, duck in 1992 with a 1-0 League Cup Final win over Millwall Lionesses.  That trophy was successfully defended a year later, and added o superbly within weeks via a maiden league title and FA Cup triumph.  In 2007, a clean sweep of major honours was completed when the side won the UEFA Women’s Cup as part of a remarkable ‘quadruple’.

In total, Vic’s side has won ten League Cups, ten FA Cups, 11 league titles and one UEFA Cup – along with eight County Cups and five Charity Shields.  Arsenal Ladies moves into a new era with confidence and excitement – but Vic’s incredible impact at the helm will surely never be matched or bettered.  His influence will remain close at hand next season, though, as he takes up a role dealing with, among other things, the Club’s transfers.
