NFF to support Solskjaer's school project
« on: June 21, 2008, 08:43:11 PM »
The management in the Norwegian Football Association is supporting Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's project in which, with UNICEF, he wants to build ten schools.  He himself will use a large part of the income from his testimonial match for Manchester United to realise the project.

"Today is the international day for work with children, and it is very suitable for donating money to schools.  To give children the chance to go to school is the best thing we can do for them", said NFF President Sondre Kåfjord.

The President challenges all in the Norwegian football family to take part in this action.  "Ole Gunnar has given us many fantastic football experiences.  He is now engaged in giving children the chance to get school time, and in the NFF we see this as very positive", said Sondre Kåfjord.

The NFF is involved in several international projects in which football is used as a means of furthering development in countries affected by poverty and confict.  The football president thinks this engagement is important.  "For an organization like ours, it is important to look up and see what we can contribute across borders.  The NFF looks at our international projects as an important sign of solidarity, where we can contribute with the competence to build up organised football activities in countries where there is conflict, or there are other challenges that hinder development", said the football president.
