Forest Boost Ahead Of Cup Clash
« on: February 02, 2007, 11:50:12 AM »
Nottingham Forest have received a boost ahead of their big FA Women's Cup clash with Charlton on Sunday, with the news that Capital One have agreed a two-year deal to be their main sponsor, cementing a deal worth £22,000 retail value in the form of kit and merchandise for all their senior and youth teams.

Forest are all fired up for the 5th round cup tie, for which they will wear the new strip, and are caught up in a frenzy of FA Cup fever, as the prize of playing on the hallowed turf of the City Ground beckons.

Forest Manager, Lisa Dawkins, commented: “We know we have a huge task ahead on Sunday but that does not mean to say that victory is as unachievable as people would have us believe. I want the girls to enjoy the occasion and to match the passion of the FA Cup which has continued to grow in stature over recent years.”

“We have an exceptional but young squad and our danger is that they will be daunted by the occasion and by the reputation that Charlton have within the game. After playng Arsenal twice already and suffering heavy defeats – it is a chance for us to redeem ourselves and show that we can actually put in a respectable performance against the top flight teams.”

Club Chairperson P.J Andrews further adds: “The managers and players have prepared well all season and now have the opportunity to realise a dream of playing on the Forest men’s home ground should they reach the final. This provides enough inspiration as 95% of the squad are Forest supporters. Everyone in Nottingham is behind Lisa and the girls to do everything they can to achieve their task – but it is not going to be an easy as Charlton come with a hefty and successful reputation full of experience. Still, nothing worth winning is ever easy and I’m sure it will be a great experience for all concerned as befits the F.A Cup.”
