New US League for 2008?
« on: January 12, 2007, 07:43:43 PM »
Here is an article from FIFA's website regarding the prospects for a new professional league in 2008. The link can be found at:-

Not sure if this would be a good thing for the English WPL. Would it 'cream off' the best players and weaken interest or would it provide an inspiration and help to strengthen it?

Here is a piece from Radio 4's Woman's hour (I don't normally listen to it, honestly  ). It is a few years ago but Kelly talks about the WUSA collapsing which is quite interesting. The link can be found at:-

There is also a programme about some of the issues regarding the potential professional status of women's football and the failure to create such a league in England back in 2003. The link can be found at:-

Since Kelly was the only professional English player in the WUSA. I thought I would also include it here.
