Ladies don’t get into a State after their Hard-ing exploits
« on: August 15, 2007, 07:08:03 PM »
West Ham United Ladies entertained a side from the Harding University who were in the middle of a whistle-stop UK tour.

The students from Texas are currently rated as the seventh top side in the USA and in a game where there were chances at both ends with some good goalkeeping and defending on both sides the game ended up as an entertaining but goalless draw.

The Hammers eleven was managed by Steve Coombs who after the game said: "This was an excellent test and workout for our girls. Ladies football is very big in the States and this was a top quality side.

"I am very happy with our performance against a side that are unbeaten on their tour thus far and it will take a very strong side to beat them.

"We went close to that this evening but no doubt the Harding coach will point to some of his teams chances. I think that a draw was a fair result on the night"

West Ham United's first team squad have now finished their pre season campaign and travel to the West Country on Sunday to take on Team Bath in their first League encounter of the season.
