English Trio Aid Ottawa Win
English trio, Arsenal's Faye White, Rachel Axon and Jodie Taylor, made a significant contribution to help Ottawa Fury to a 3-2 win over Jersey Sky Blue. Sky Blue are one of the franchise teams that have signed letter of intent to play in proposed pro league, which is scheduled to start up next year.

Sky Blue were missing their Brazilian star, Formiga, who is on international duty against the USA at the weekend, but it still represents a good win for the Candian side, as they were without 4 or 5 players this season, who are in Canadian residency.

With the two teams likely to meet again in the W-League Eastern Conference play-offs, Fury began building a big psychological advantage with a 3-0 lead.
It was Axon (ex-AFC WImbledon) who set up the opening goal on 15 minutes, with Annie Hamel finding the net.

Seven minutes later, Axon and Taylor (ex-Tranmere) combined to provide Hamel with her second goal, but Ottawa's woodwork was then twice struck by Tricia DiPaolo. Taylor continued to cause problems and her efforts led to a third goal on 50 minutes, score by Moscato.

Faye White soon conceded a free-kick from which Sky Blue scored through Nogueira. The same player reduced the arrears further from the penalty spot, with 23 minutes to play, but Fury held out to claim a 3-2 win.
