Sunderland Women are re-signing former star midfielder Jordan Nobbs during the SL close season after her Arsenal commitments are done.

"Sunderland Women are re-signing former star midfielder Jordan Nobbs.

The 18-year-old, who was named the FA Young Player of the Year last season, joined Arsenal last August after helping Sunderland win the FA Women’s Premier League. Nobbs made the move to play in the newly-formed summer Women’s Super League and has played the part in the Gunners’ triumphant season in which they have won the League, FA Cup and League Cup treble.

All that remains for Arsenal are Champions League games, they play two last 16 games early next month before the winter break. Players can then choose to sign for a Premier League side if they wish, and Sunderland boss Mick Mulhern has moved quickly to get the stylish midfielder back into the squad.

“We have to wait until her Arsenal commitments are over, but it will be great to have Jordan back next month,” said Mulhern.

“She came through the ranks at Sunderland and everyone was disappointed to lose her last year, but no one could begrudge her moving on and she needs to be playing at the top level.

“She’ll add that extra bit of quality to the side and squad and give us a boost.”

Sunderland are third in the Premier League this season, a point behind second-placed Coventry but with a game in hand.

Leeds lead the way, two points clear of Sunderland, who they entertain at Farsley AFC this Sunday.

Mulhern has also recently signed midfielder Jess Round from Leeds and is also giving a trial to Canadian international defender Kim McMullen, who is now based in Belfast and looking to impress in English football.

Great signing for us can't wait to watch her again at the Hetton Centre. Jordan was a big part of why i got so quickly into the women's game, tremendous player.
"Sunderland have got a girl up front who is clinical - Beth Mead is one of the best strikers in the country, let alone our division - and it showed today." - Aston Villa Ladies Head Coach Joe Hunt

Surely Jordan and Helen alderson wont be able to play at the same time? Also I believe Beth Mead has pulled out of the England u17 squad through injury so she wont be available this weekend.

I cant say I'm sure mate tbh i don't know what the rules are now between the SL and the WPL so i wont comment.

As for Beth i haven't heard anything but i hope that isn't true it would be a shame for her to miss her chance, although i'm sure she would get another chance in the future.

Helen Lander played for Barnet yesterday. A club that has 3 WSL players registered : Lander, Bruton and Prosser.
Lucy Gunton-Jones didn't stay long at Lincoln  ??? She played for Forrest yesterday alongside Bradley from Lincoln as well.

Donny's Scottish centre-half with the Welsh name, Rhonda Jones, heads back north of the border.

BUT is said to have snubbed Hibs to ink a deal with Celtic.

And I wouldn't be surprised if more players leave Watford. It does not reflect well on them to see their Captain leave.
Here we go : Sahara Osborne-Ricketts  Watford to Oxford United.

Donny Belles in "advanced talks" to bring in Irish star Julie-Ann Russell for the 2012 WSL.

The marketing student is also set to be handed a behind-the-scenes role as part of her university placement.

Donny looks like to try to get many Irish girls Why not take Denise O'Sullivan, she seems to be a genuine talent in the Irish team.

And rumour has it that Dora Gorman is even better  :o

Trouble is, they are still at school and will probably get offers from American universities too.

Watford are bleeding players, apparently 5 players left recently...good show of loyalty then. Mercenaries ? or just disappointed to be loosing every week?

Levi Penny has left Blackburn due to work commitments.

Blackburn have also signed Gail Pennington from Rochdale and welcomed back Lagan Makin, who has returned to the club after previously playing for Liverpool (Res), Everton (Res) and Man City.

Watford signed Irene Martin Garcia from Rayo Vallecano. From Champions League to bottom of the National division quite a change.
