WSL 2, 2017/2018 – Women's Super League 2
« on: July 10, 2017, 06:16:28 AM »

The first winter season of England's FA WSL 2, kicking off in September and finishing in May 2018.

The main change in the league – Everton have been elected to WSL 1 to replace Notts County.

On the 'evidence' of the spring league table, Doncaster, Millwall, Villa and Durham are all hard to separate, while Oxford languished without a win and have apparently siphoned funds away from their RTC to help the WSL team :o Relegation to the WPL awaits the bottom club in 2017/18.

The FA might not promote the top WSL 2 team to WSL 1, instead choosing clubs based on licence applications, so things are far from clear at the moment.

On the subject of Durham, Zoe Ness has extended her stay at the club and looks ahead to the new season here.

Oxford have confirmed friendlies including against WSL1 opposition... hopefully not just shooting practice :s  And Dan Carlton has signed for Oxford after a varied recent career for the midfielder - she's been at Millwall, Yeovil, and the new WSL2 entrants, Tottenham.

Brighton have appointed Hope Powell as their new manager:

(it's been four years, guys, let it go..)

This comes after Watford's news last week - Keith Boanas and Alberto Kurti will continue as head coach and assistant.
